Bloxam Burnett and Olliver on behalf of the New Zealand Transport Association (NZTA) engaged Mansergh Graham to prepare the hard and soft landscape component for the Waikato Expressway Ngaruawahia Section Stage 1.
The overall landscape intent for the Waikato Expressway Ngaruawahia Section was to create a landscape composed of elements which reference the unique character of Taupiri. The concept design is detailed with graphic imagery, representing local iconic landscape features, and natural and cultural patterns. The plant signatures proposed reference the ecological history of the site, and will be sourced from local plant nurseries that follow eco-sourcing principles. All planting will comply with New Zealand Transport Authority clear zone requirements.
