Mansergh Graham was commissioned by Swaps Contractors Ltd, to undertake a detailed assessment of the effects of the expansion of the Ostern Quarry near Otorohanga.
Using GIS analysis and 3D modelling software, Mansergh Graham was able to calculate and illustrate the visibility of the quarry expansion from surrounding locations.
The project included:
- GIS viewshed analysis and the identification of potentially affected populations.
- Assessment of landscape, visual and amenity effects.
- Presentation of expert evidence at the consent hearing.
- Preparation of landform rehabilitation plan (overburden sites).
