A subdivision development within the rolling landscape adjacent to the southern boundary of Hamilton City that forms one of the southern gateways to the city. Aurora Subdivision transforms the existing rural landscape into a mixed density residential development with an emphasis on providing high levels of amenity through the inclusion of parkland and the retention and enhancement of natural water courses and low impact stormwater devices. MGLA were engaged to assist with the development of the subdivision’s response to urban amenity and the interface with necessary infrastructure.
The project included the preparation of landscape concepts considering both the hard and soft treatment of the development and its connectivity with surrounding infrastructure. Contribution to an Urban Design Guide for the development, detailed planting and construction drawings, and implementation observation.
